Snare 1:
Return to Exile

ONE BOY. UNTOLD ENEMIES. A WHOLE WORLD TO SAVE.
IT'S GOING TO BE A LOOONG THREE DAYS.

Eleven years ago, a shattered band of ancient monster hunters captured an unimaginable evil and Phineas T. Pimiscule rescued his nephew, Sky, from the wreckage of that great battle. For eleven years, Sky Weathers has studied traps, puzzles, science, and the secret lore of the Hunters of Legend believing it all a game. For eleven years, Sky and his family have hidden from dark enemies while, unbeknownst to Sky, his uncle Phineas sacrificed everything to protect them.

For eleven years, Sky Weathers has known nothing of that day.

But on the eve of Sky's twelfth birthday and his family's long-awaited return to the town of Exile, everything changes. Phineas has disappeared, and Sky finds himself forced to confront the mysterious secrets he's denied for so long: why did his family leave Exile on that day so long ago? What, exactly, has Phineas been preparing him for? And, the biggest mystery of all, who is Sky really and why does everyone want to kill him?!

Featuring an action-packed plot that covers the gamut of every monster you've never heard of (not to mention weird powers and weapons made out of garbage), Return to Exile is brimming with boy and girl appeal and is a gem for reluctant young readers. And, with a diverse assortment of well-aged monster hunters in the cast, this series will be a hit with adults young and old as well.  Recommended for ages 9+.

Snare 2:
The Legend Thief

Sky has more monsters to fight--and lives to save--in the sequel to Return to Exile.

Sky thought he had problems before. "Before" as in when his uncle disappeared, he had to move to an odd new town with his family, and, oh yeah, it was up to him to make sure the world's deadliest monster didn't escape from his prison. But none of that compares to now. "Now" as in when the entire Hunters of Legend are coming to Exile with one mission: kill Sky. Well, Sky thought there was only one mission, but the longer he stays alive, the more he realizes that there is something else afoot. And all those friends that he kept in the dark to keep them safe? Turns out he might have to ask them to risk their lives yet again to stop an unspeakable evil from wreaking havoc on the world.

With art from the illustrator of the Percy Jackson series and praise from New York Times bestselling writers--including Brandon Mull, author of the Beyonders and Fablehaven series, and James Dashner, author of The Maze Runner and The Scorch Trials--The Hunter Chronicles blend bravery and humor into a breathtaking adventure.

Praise for The Legend Thief

"Plenty of twists and turns, monsters, and high adventure. Yes, your kids will love it, but so will you--smartly written and tons of fun. If you're not familiar with the series, jump in. And for the many who enjoyed Return to Exile, everything gets notched up in The Legend Thief, so hold on tight."
--Platte F. Clark, author of Bad Unicorn (Simon & Schuster, April 2013)

"New riddles to solve, more traps to escape, more monsters to face... it's everything Return to Exile had, cranked to a new level!"
--David J. Butler, author of the Rock Band Fights Evil series & the City of the Saints series

I sadly started reading your book after it just came out, so I had to wait for the second one and now I'm waiting for the third. And according to these sad posts, it seems that I could be waiting for a while.
Where are you? What's going on? WHY CAN'T I FIND ANYTHING?

Hey E.J I knew your daughter in 3rd grade and I've come to your house a couple times, you probably don't remember me, and I doubt your daughter will either, but could you ask her if she remembers Isabel (or Izzy) Outsen from Mrs. Hardy's class?

I've just finished the second book and it was amazing. I've always wanted to be a writer and after reading these first two books of the hunter chronicles, I realized that I want to be just like you. You are an inspiration to me and my imagination. I read most comments and they kept asking when the third book to the series....I am extremely excited to what you have next up for the series.

me siento decepcionada, pues la editorial molinos publico solamente el primer libro y el segundo lo dejo en el olvido, ignoro completamente la razón, tal ves sea por el bajo numero de ventas del primero, pero me muero de curiosidad por conocer el segundo.

Your books are so magical. It's like a movie playing in my mind because of the detail and topic. I'm sure they take some serious crafting to write. This is the best book series I've read-the hunter chronicles. Can't wait for the next book in the series!

Man I remember nearly 3 years ago I post it’s been 4 years. Hearing any new about the 3rd book is probably the biggest pipe dream of my life but I always be checking in now and again. If you can’t write the third book at least pass the reins off to someone else (like with the wheel of time but the original author died in that situation) because the series has beautiful world building and a great cliff hanger but it’s sad to see the fans including myself hang from that cliff for forever

Well said, we might never know what happens

Sup Eric, I hope all is well with you man. It's been 9-7 years since I read your books and I can see that somethings happened. You went dark back in 2015, if you get the chance an update would be nice. It's honestly fine if you lost motivation or had writers block, you have basically left the novel to us lol.
